The 2025 Tony Award nominations were announced on 2 May and the ceremony is set for 8 June at Radio City Music Hall, with Cynthia Erivo confirmed as host. The event will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
Leading this year’s nominations with 10 nods each are Death Becomes Her, Maybe Happy Ending, and Buena Vista Social Club. The most nominated play is John Proctor Is the Villain, which earned seven nods.
Audra McDonald made history with her 11th career nomination for Gypsy, the most ever for a performer. Other major acting nominees include Sarah Snook for The Picture of Dorian Gray, George Clooney for Good Night, and Good Luck, and Sadie Sink for John Proctor Is the Villain.
The 2024–2025 season featured 42 eligible productions, reflecting a busy year for Broadway. The nominations spanned musicals, plays, revivals, and design, showcasing both established names and new talent.
