Saim Ayub has been declared fit and is set to join Peshawar Zalmi for the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL 10), beginning April 11.
Peshawar Zalmi has received a timely boost as Saim Ayub, the left-handed opening batter, has recovered from an ankle injury and will join the squad today. He will arrive alongside wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris for the second day of the team’s training ahead of HBL PSL 10.
Ayub had been out of action for more than six weeks after sustaining the injury during the Test series against South Africa in early 2024. Following the injury, he was ruled out of international duties, missing both the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 and the tour of New Zealand.
His rehabilitation program took place in London and spanned a month. It included a range of balancing and strengthening drills such as single-leg squats, tightrope walks, and single-leg jumps. He returned to Pakistan earlier this month to celebrate Eid with his family.
The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League will commence on Friday, April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi. Peshawar Zalmi are scheduled to open their campaign a day later against Quetta Gladiators at the same venue.
This year’s HBL PSL features six teams and a total of 34 matches, concluding on May 18. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 fixtures, including both Eliminators and the final.
