Lahore Qalandars’ all-rounder Sikandar Raza has expressed his excitement for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches, stating that the team is optimistic about delivering a strong performance this season.
Speaking to a local news channel, Raza said that he is eagerly awaiting the start of PSL 10 and is fully prepared for the tournament. Reflecting on the previous edition, he acknowledged that the team made mistakes but is now focused on overcoming those shortcomings.
“We are eagerly waiting for the matches to begin, and we believe we will perform well this season,” he stated.
Raza emphasized the importance of team unity, noting that most of the players have been playing together for a while, which has fostered a strong team culture. “Everyone is like a family, which creates a great dressing room environment. Our positive team culture, both on and off the field, has played a key role in winning back-to-back titles,” he added.
Speaking about Rashid Khan’s absence, Raza admitted that the Afghan star’s presence is irreplaceable. However, he expressed confidence in the new spinner brought in as his replacement. “Rashid Khan is like family to us, and we wish him well. His absence will be felt, but the spinner replacing him is also talented,” he said.
Raza praised the management, particularly Sameen Rana, for selecting a strong coaching staff and integrating new players into the squad.
Discussing franchise cricket, Raza acknowledged the stature of both the PSL and IPL, stating that cricket fans eagerly follow both leagues. “It is up to us to perform well so that fans look forward to Lahore Qalandars’ matches,” he added.
On individual performances, Raza highlighted the importance of all players contributing to the team’s success. He confirmed that Fakhar Zaman is fully fit and ready to play, while Shaheen Afridi also looks in great shape. “Fakhar Zaman’s return is great news, and we pray for his continued fitness,” he concluded.
